Who is this course for?
This course has been designed for personnel who are required to fill the role of Intelligence for an incident using AIIMS.
What will you learn?
This course will review the scope, role and responsibilities of the functional area, but most importantly it will look at how to complete key tasks during a shift in the role of Intelligence Officer.
This course will take about 2 hours of your time.
Course content
Working in Intelligence Review the role and responsibilities of this functional area, including units that can be activated within the section. |
Appreciating the operational environment Understanding the conditions within which Intelligence must work to help successfully resolve the incident. |
Using the intelligence cycle The process of collection, processing, analysis, production, dissemination and review. |
Intelligence planning Using requests and Information Collection Plans to ensure efficient and effective development of intelligence products. |
Using different sources of information Including the use of pre-incident plans, surveillance, reconnaissance and external sources of information. |
Building the Common Operating Picture Providing shared situational awareness in order to support effective decision making. |
Creating situation reports Providing an update for incident personnel and other stakeholders about what has happened and may happen. |
Creating other intelligence products Creating other types of products including appreciations, estimates, indications and evaluations.
