Who is this course for?
This course has been designed for personnel who are required to fill the role of Planning for an incident using AIIMS.
What will you learn?
This course will review the scope, role and responsibilities of the functional area, but most importantly it will look at how to complete key tasks during a shift in the role of Planning Officer.
This course will take about 2.5 hours of your time.
Course content
Working in Planning Review the role and responsibilities of this functional area, including units that can be activated within the section. |
Approach to planning Considerations for effective planning at an incident. |
Developing plans The process of developing the Incident Action Plan and other supporting plans. |
Communications planning Ensuring adequate and effective communication systems are in place at the incident. |
Running planning meetings Including meeting preparation, meeting focus, management techniques, and follow up actions. |
Managing resources Determining and requesting required resources and tracking resource status. |
Providing management support Roles and tasks completed by the Management Support Unit to assist other functional areas within the IMT. |
Maintaining records Document management and record keeping for the incident.
